Connect the Dots.

Cohesive story for architects, designers, innovators, and creatives.

A Workshop: Friday, March 27, 2026
11:00AM-12:00PM Pacific

You have a great portfolio, a solid track record, and happy clients. You crave opportunities to make real impact.

But landing them demands a solid argument that proves you’re the one for the job.

What’s standing in your way?

Where to start the story, and how to frame it, just isn’t clear.

Zeroing-in on the very real thing that sets you apart is a challenge.

You’re stuck on a treadmill of generic-feeling corporate-speak.

AI is not delivering the goods, no matter how you prompt it.

The pressure to make the short list and close the deal is stifling you.

It’s tricky to shift the conversation from what you have done to all that you can do.

As a creative-for-hire, you are a breed apart. Your work is akin to a calling. Every job is a chance to push yourself further.

Your growth, and your well-being overall, depend on getting the best, most challenging opportunities.

To land the work, you need to do more than to persuade the decision-makers; you must also capture their imaginations.

When you shift the focus from what you do to why it matters, magic happens. Your story ceases to be a re-cap of past accomplishments. Instead, it becomes an invitation into what is possible; into a future that is better because of your efforts.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:

  • The change in mindset that cracks open your storytelling.

  • Where to uncover the best evidence of what makes you — your organization, your offer —essential and inimitable.

  • Why it’s time to step away from “we believe” statements and lists of core values.

  • The consequences of letting perfectionism, “fitting in,” and “getting it right” drive the bus.

  • How to convey your passion for your work without using the word “passionate.”

  • What we all can learn from Alysa Liu.

“Jean has this uncanny ability to draw you out, and to find little nuggets of truth. Sure, she’s a great writer, but it’s about how she engages you. She helped us to discover what is important to us, and to appreciate what we're actually doing.”

-Nick Ericson, Ericson + Co. | Skåne, Sweden“

I’m Jean: a writer-strategist, creative director, and coach.

We live in a world that wants to label us and reduce us to the sum of our parts. I teach people how to name and claim what makes them unique, and to tell their stories on their own terms.

I love working with architects, designers, and creatives of all stripes. Their engagement with the world, and their conviction that things can be made better, fires me up. Whatever the context — branding, communications, change management, innovation projects — helping them to rediscover themselves is always a joy.
